Portico Limes

Ons project op tv bij rtvUtrecht en NOS jeugdjournaal!




Samen met zes andere mensen van verschillende opleidingen hebben we van school weer een opdracht gekregen. Voor de gemeente Utrecht moeten we een interactieve installatie maken dat Kanaleneiland met de Romeinse Limes verbind. De Limes is de oude Romeinse grens die vroeger door Utrecht (en Kanaleneiland) heeft gelopen.
We hebben de basisscholen als onze doelgroep gekozen en kwamen met het idee om een geschiedenis les te maken. Dit over de Romeinen natuurlijk!

Een professor, Tom genaamd, komt in de klas samen met zijn tijdsportaal. Wanneer hij net over de Romeinse tijd begint te vertellen gaat het portaal aan. We zien beelden uit de Romeinse tijd, lang lang geleden!
Daar zit Aelius, een romeinse jongen. Hij Zit gevangen en wilt vrijheid!
De kinderen uit de klas kunnen hem helpen door in de buurt met een 'spulletjesspeurder' objecten te vinden. Die objecten kunnen ze door middel van het tijdsportaal naar het verleden sturen. Bij elk object dat ze invoeren zien ze steeds een filmpje van hoe het object Aelius kan helpen.

Underwater

I really wanted to experiment with photographs underwater. So Wesley and I bought a small camera that can go down for about 5 meters. And luckily we went to America and Crete for our holidays. Here we could experiment with our little camera in swimming pools and of course in the sea. So here are a couple of pictures wich were are quite proud of! But first of all I have to say that we were inpired by the video artist Danielle Kwaaitaal.

Vj'en G.O.H.K.

Together with Suzanne van Dongen we were invited to VJ'ing at the spring party of my brothers student house. This was the first time in my life, and the second time in Suus life. Unfortunately the most of the film material weren't ours. But we had the licence to use them ;).
The theme of the party was Psycedalic Circus. And we were standing on the pink elaphant.
The dj, Menno de Meester, was standing beneath us.
It went quite well for the first time and it was really fun to do!
It was a great party and I think most of the people enjoyed it!

Eye Movement - video installatie

For the Music & Art Days Festival we were getting the assignment to make an art work that combines the music and art.
The festival was four days filled with music from Utrecht String Quartet (USQ) and art from several artists.
Here for we (Dennie van Dijk, Roald Joosen and me) made the Eye Movement. We referring with our installation to the musicians from USQ. There effort to play is followed by the music, which is followed by the imagination in the mind of the peoples. When the music stops, the imagination will all so vanish.
With the Eye movement we create the same thought by turning the tubes with a high speed, and show an projection on the form that's been created.
Also by the movement of the tubes, a tone is being created. When the movement stops, the tone will fade and the projection will stop.
